The Grand View women's track and field team placed second in the MCC Championships over the weekend with 235 overall team points behind St. Ambrose who finished with 297 points. 

Viking field athlete Val Veiock (West Des Moines, Iowa) was named the female field athlete of the year.  The junior once again performed at the top and won the shot put with a throw of 14.38m.  She tied for first in the discus with a throw of 43.43m and walked away with third in the hammer throw (47.49m).
