Viking senior Val Veiock (West Des Moines, Iowa) picked up her second MCC Field Athlete of the Week award announced today.

Veiock was recognized for her performances at the MCC Indoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend in which she won the shot put with an 'A' standard and school-record throw of 14.59m (47'10.5").  She was also second in the weight throw at 17.69m (58' .5"), which was an 'A' standard mark as well.  Following the meet, she was voted as the MCC Field Athlete of the Year, her fourth such honor.

The Viking track & field teams are back in action this Saturday at the Wartburg Invitational in Waverly.
