Two members of the Grand View men's track and field team were recognized for their weekend performances at the Wartburg Select held in Waverly.

Senior Lance Maxwell (Racine, Wis.) won his second MCC Field Athlete of the Week of the season by posting a national-qualifying mark in the weight throw. Maxwell hit the NAIA 'B' standard and a conference-leading mark with a toss of 55' 1".  He was also sixth in the shot put with a season-best toss in the MCC of 47' 11 ¼"

Junior Keonte White (Grand Prairie, Texas) picked up his first MCC Track Athlete of the Week award of the year after dominating the sprints at the Wartburg Select.  White won the 60-meter dash in 6.98 seconds and was also first in the 200-meter dash in 22.54 seconds.  Both times are new GV school records and currently lead the conference.  White also ran the lead leg of the 4x200-meter relay which Grand View won in a time of 1:31.49.

The Viking track & field teams compete this Saturday at the Dennis Young Classic in Storm Lake.
