The Simpson men's and women's track and field teams competed in their first event of the season on Friday and won nine of the 12 events they performed in at the Pioneer Indoor Preview Meet, hosted by Grinnell College.

The Simpson men s and women s track and field teams were selected to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team, while Travis Tupper earned All-Academic Individual honors, the USTFCCCA announced Monday.

The American Rivers Conference announced its 2019 Spring All-Academic Team on Thursday and Simpson had 38 student-athletes receive the honor. From around the league, 348 student-athletes were recognized for the achievement.

The Simpson men s and women s track and field teams are set to host the 14th annual Kip Janvrin Open this Thursday through Friday inside Buxton Stadium. The event welcomes over 1,200 participants from more than 30 schools across the nation.
