Grand View took both Midwest Collegiate Conference track & field awards this week announced by the league today. Seniors Keonte White (Grand Prairie, Texas) and Kenny Simmons (St. Louis, Mo.) earned conference recognition for their performances over the weekend at the Grinnell Invitational that led to a team title for the Viking men.

White won his second award of the season by winning two events at the Grinnell Invitational.  He won the 200-meter dash in an 'A' standard, conference-leading, and school-record time of 22.21 seconds.  White also ran on the 4x400-meter relay team that won in a time of 3:26.00. 

Simmons won his first award of the year by winning the triple jump at Grinnell.  His length of 47-3.75 is an 'A' standard, conference-leading, and school-record mark.  Simmons was also seventh in the long jump at 20-2.5. 

The men look to defend their title at the MCC Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday.
