[Men's Indoor Track and Field] Johnston and White Qualify for Nationals at Wartburg TriangularPublished by
The Viking men's track & field team won five events and had two national qualifiers at the Wartburg Triangular over the Weekend. Sophomore Nate Johnston (Carroll, Iowa) took second in the weight throw with a national qualifying and conference-leading toss of 16.59m. Grand View had first place finishes in four more events. Junior Michael Allner (Moville, Iowa) scored 3870 points to win the heptathlon. In the 200m dash, freshman Leeshad O'Neal (Wharton, Texas) won with a time of 22.74 while sophomore Malik Denny (Des Moines, Iowa) won the high jump (1.95m) and senior Kenny Simmons (St. Louis, Mo.) the long jump (13.96m).
