Two national qualifying marks highlighted the Viking women's track & field teams fourth place finish at the Dutch Athletics Classic hosted by Central College in Pella on Saturday.

Freshman Kelley Carden (Neligh, Neb.) was second in the high jump with a Grand View school record, MCC conference-leading, and NAIA automatic qualifying mark of 1.65m (5' 5").

Senior Colleen Frank (Eldora, Iowa) hit an NAIA 'B' standard in the weight throw. Her toss of 16.27m met the NAIA "B" national qualifying standard.

Both Carden and Frank will compete at the NAIA Indoor Championship March 6-8 in Geneva, Ohio.

Other highlights included a win in the 200m (26.82) and runner-up finish in the 600m (1:44.73) by junior Ragan Duax (Davenport, Iowa). Junior Kelsey Carbajo (Spring Hill, Kan.) was second in the mile (5:45.09) and junior Jasmien Nielsen (Denver, Iowa) third in the 1,000m (3:15.96).

The Viking track & field teams next compete at the Wartburg Select on Saturday, Feb. 1.
