Viking freshman Kelley Carden (Neligh, Neb.) was voted as this week's Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Field Athlete of the week announced by the league today.

Carden's first weekly award win came after an impressive performance at the Central College Dutch Athletics Classic.  Her mark of 5' 5" in the high jump not only broke the school record and leads the MCC, but eclipsed the NAIA's automatic-qualifying standard. She will compete at the NAIA Indoor championships in Geneva, Ohio in March.

The Viking track & field teams compete this Saturday at the Wartburg Select in Waverly.
