Junior Kenny Simons (St. Louis, Mo.) brought home the championship in the triple jump (13.28m) and placed third in the 55m dash (6.67) to lead the Viking men to a fifth place finish at the Dutch Athletics Classic Saturday in Pella.

GV saw six more top-four performances on Saturday including a runner-up effort by senior Zach Vos (Pella, Iowa) in the 600m (1:24.88).

Five Vikings took fourth place in their events - senior Lance Maxwell (Racine, Wis.) in both the shot put (14.22m) and the weight throw (15.20m), senior Alex Alvarez (Lewisville, Texas) in the 600m (1:26.82), senior Jimmie Davis (Buena Park, Calif.) in the triple jump (12.96m), and the 4x400m relay team of  junior Keonte White (Grand View Prairie, Texas), freshman Clay Cory (Elkhart, Iowa), Vos, and sophomore Tre Porter (The Colony, Texas) who finished in a time of 3:33.08.
