The Viking men competed at the Les Duke Invitational in Grinnell Saturday morning. Three GV runners recorded personal bests on the 8k course.

Freshman JR Snyder (Altoona, Iowa) paced the Vikings with an 8k personal best time of 27:47. He was 39^th of 166 runners and his time was 10^th best in the GV record books.

Two more GV runners also ran personal bests at Les Duke. Senior Alex Alvarez (Lewisville, Texas) ran a 29:10 and freshman Nate Johnson (Eagan, Minn.) a 29:45.

As a team, Grand View finished in ninth place in the 15-team field.

The Vikings next host their home meet this Friday, Sept. 20, at Ewing Park in Des Moines. The women's 5k begins at 5 p.m. followed by the men's 8k race at 5:45 p.m.
