[Men's Outdoor Track and Field] Adger Wins MCC Decathlon TitlePublished by
Grand View junior Bryce Adger (Carrollton, Texas) won the MCC decathlon title on Saturday afternoon after winning four of the ten events. Adger posted an NAIA national qualifying mark of 5,974 points and was more than 500 points ahead of the rest of the field. He won the pole vault with a new personal best mark and Grand View school mark of 4.35m (14' 3¼"). Adger also won the long jump, 400m, and 1500m run during the decathlon competition. Teammates sophomore Chase Carlson (Oskaloosa, Iowa) and freshman Jake Stacy (West Des Moines, Iowa) placed third and fourth in the decathlon also surpassing the NAIA minimum national qualifying standard of 4,500 points with scores of 5,151 points and 4,974 points. Carlson won the 100m dash in 11.16 seconds, while Stacy won the shot put with a toss of 11.33m and the discus with a mark of 31.65m. The Vikings currently hold the lead in the team race heading into the MCC conference championships on May 3-4.
